Marketing Manager

As Marketing Manager, you will develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns that reach the overarching objectives of the Marketing and Sales Department, which directly contribute to the company’s overall objectives.
About your role
  • You should have a strong focus on digital potentials, using all possibilities of a connected world, while not forgetting about traditional methods. Furthermore, you will manage and lead the way to position Avallain as a worldwide market leader in the rapidly growing Education Technology sector. In addition, you should be a search engine expert and take all needed actions to establish and maintain an effective Search Engine Marketing strategy.
  • We are looking for someone who would define Marketing as strategic and targeted ideas that provide valuable and relatable content to target audiences in order to achieve measurable results, such as relevant engagement and quality leads that eventually convert into paying business.

Objectives of your role
  • Establish an international brand positioning, define and identify target audiences around the globe and determine unique selling propositions
  • Develop marketing plans that reach specific objectives across different channels and countries worldwide
  • Lead the execution of international and national marketing programs from start to finish, coordinating with colleagues, agencies and consultants
  • Make Avallain a content marketing powerhouse, reaching target audiences effectively through storytelling, engaging content and precise targeting
  • Create, extend and/or maintain various communication and marketing channels ranging from social media to the official website – using them to reach and engage with target audiences, generate quality leads and pitch products, services and updates
  • Support colleagues with establishing and maintaining a dynamic customer/prospects database and marketing cloud
  • Work in this database and marketing cloud to extract key insights for future campaign development and recommendations on tactics
  • Work in this database and marketing cloud to identify leads and establish a lead scoring system
  • Send communication, marketing and sales content – solicited as well as unsolicited to identified leads in the lead scoring system to test and evolve nurturing tactics
  • Work together with international Sales to convert leads to paying customers
  • Research and define keywords and implement an effective search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine advertising (SEA)
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
  • Work together with the Communication and Marketing Department’s Head to create international marketing strategies and global campaigns that enable a more effective strategy to reach the objectives
  • Work in partnership with colleagues, agency partners and consultants from various countries in the focus-areas strategy, publishing, content, and design
  • Develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets
  • Conceptualise and execute worldwide and multi-channel campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Manage content and updates for the customer and internal touchpoints, accept responsibility for budget, participate in events, document business processes, and provide additional sales support
  • Gather customer and market insights to increase customer conversions and generate more qualified leads
  • Help build a dynamic customer database and establish as well as maintain an effective segmenting and tagging system
  • Create sales and conversion funnels, identify, structure and nurture leads as well
  • Acquire e-mail newsletter subscribers and compose as well as send targeted newsletters
  • Identify the effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimise accordingly
  • Present ideas and deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, budget, and final deliverables
Required skills and qualifications
  • At least three years of experience developing and executing global marketing plans and campaigns in a B2B-setting, with focus on (but not limited to) online marketing and social media strategy
  • Proficient in English and German: Native speaker or C2-C1 level with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to align strategies to superior objectives and see the bigger picture
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity
  • Experience with Marketing Clouds, Automation and CRM-Tools, such as HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, such as WordPress
  • Experience with Google Ads and with realising an effective Search Engine Marketing from start to finish
  • Proficient using Project-Management, Office- and Communication-Software such as JIRA, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Slack or similar
  • Basic skills with Adobe CC, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
